Foiled Again

I really don't understand people sometimes.

We had a girl come into the store the other day. She looked around awhile and then ended up leaving without buying anything. Naturally I became suspicious and went to the back of the store to see what I could find.

I found this open on the shelf:

She had stolen a piece of aluminum foil! Now, I realize that it would be difficult to put the whole thing in your purse and take it, but why steal one small piece of it? Did she have leftovers to wrap up and ran out of foil?

So now, we have her picture up on our wall for people we need to look out for because she owes us $2 for that!

I was clueless why she would take just a small piece of foil until a coworker told me that she probably took it so that she could use it for drugs.

Now I'm really clueless. What does one small piece of foil do? Can someone enlighten me?

  1. It acts kind of like a stove...you put the drugs in solid form on top, then underneath the foil you heat it with a lighter until it liquidfies.

  2. I don't know about drugs other than pot. A friend of mine would use a small piece of foil for a home made bong or pipe in place of screen. Screen was harder to get. Foil was easier, just poke some little holes in it.

  4. As already said - normally used to heat up solid form to get into liquid to then use

  6. IF she were my customer, she would be taking it out to smoke her heroin on. LOL

  7. Discovered your blog. I too work as a cashier at a superstore her in South Florida. I just wanted to say that you are a talented writer and it is a real achievement to be keeping a blog since 2010.

Regarding the aluminum foil I first thought that it was a comment on the times we live in, that the economy is getting so bad that people are stealing things like aluminum foil. I didn't know it could be used for drugs as well but I guess you live and learn.

Anyway, keep blogging and I'll keep reading

  8. I believe some shoplifters think aluminum foil will shield a rfid tag, and allow them to sneak the items past the sensors.
